Hello everyone. Today I have a layout share that features the Simple Stories Life in Color collection. I have a hard time finding masculine papers and since most of the projects I create have boys or men in them it was so nice to get this collection. The sticker sheet provided 2 phrases and I also used a Recollections (Michaels) Dimensional sticker for the title.
Since the layout was about my Dad being the first in his family to own a home I die-cut #1 from Stampin' Up Large Numbers Framelits (#140622) and then cut it again with Fun Foam for some dimension. I also stamped, colored (#131259 and # 138333) and die-cut the little houses (Stampin' Up) at the bottom (#135095/ #135857). I don't really care for flicking on my layouts so I used a stamp with splatters on it (Stampin' Up Timeless Textures #140517) and used the same stamp set to add a swipe of yellow in some spots. The fence is a die cut from Darice and that was sponged with some Walnut Stain distress ink.
I really enjoyed putting this layout together and loved documenting such an important event.
Take a look at the project below and let me know what you think.
